Recirclable is building up a community of restaurants around the Boston area, enabling an open network of restaurants to offer reusables to their customers.
We aim to expand to other communities, so if you have a favorite restaurant that isn't yet using reusable containers, please let us know! Help us shift habits and mindset from recyclable to Recirclable!
Shifting the mindset from recyclable to Recirclable!
We're on a mission to provide eco-conscious consumers and restaurants the opportunity to reduce waste by offering reusable containers for takeout as an alternative to single use containers.
The seed was planted in our minds for a long time, having lived in Europe and experienced the impact of several emerging reusable programs there. The pandemic made the necessity in our communities even more apparent: as we supported our local businesses, our cupboards filled with plastic containers, many of which are not recyclable. We also learned that compostables aren't the solution, as they can have greater environmental impacts than single use alternatives. We wanted to support our local businesses, but without the environmental cost due to waste.
And so, Recirclable was born!
